Born in a renowned Sikh Business class family to Mr. R.S. Malhotra and Mrs. Surinder Kaur Malhotra, married to Dr. Kanwar Singh Nalwa, an IIT professor in Kanpur and mother to Udita kaur, a 14 years old confident and beautiful young lady.

Quotes that keep you going, motivates you:

  • “Be the woman, who prays with and empowers other women, and not compete with them”
  • “Stand for what you believe, even if that means standing alone.”

Achievements/ Anything you are proud of yourself:

Got married and then divorced at a very young age, was a single parent for many years until I got married just 2 years back. By the grace of God, I am proud of the upbringing that I have given to my daughter Udita. She is a confident and empathetic girl with high moral values. After my divorce, I continued my studies and started working as well.

What is Women Empowerment according to you?

Empowering women means giving them means to be financially and intellectually independent. Education is the only way of empowering women, we have to educate each and every girl child.

Message for society:

Women are a part of society, so let’s get together and raise this part by giving them the respect, freedom, education, love and safety, and raise the standard of entire society.

Don’t tell your daughters to cover up, rather than educate your sons. No teenage boy should grow up persuading that abuse is normal.

How will you give back to society after becoming a Queen?

After becoming a Queen, I would reach as many women and men as I can to change their mindset. Share my life experiences and render my advice, and shoulder as a true friend to the women who have been struggling or have no one to share their sorrows and feelings with.

I would reach as many women as I can to motivate them and to help them regain their confidence and zeal towards life and live a dignified life.

Why have you participated in Mrs India International Queen?

I have participated in Mrs India International Queen as while going through their website I was fascinated by the slogan “Be Strong, Be Confident, Be You!” and it says it all. I would love to meet some strong like-minded women, share my thoughts and listen to theirs.
