Smriti IraniWhat is Women Empowerment according to you?Women empowerment is about creating an environment where every woman has the freedom, resources, and confidence to make choices that lead to her personal, professional, and social growth. It means equipping women with the skills, education, and support they need to reach their full potential and contribute to society on their own terms.Empowerment is also about challenging stereotypes and breaking down barriers that have traditionally held women back. It involves respecting women's voices, promoting equal opportunities, and encouraging them to take on leadership roles in every sphere of life—be it in the home, workplace, or community. Ultimately, women empowerment is about helping women recognize their own strength and individuality so they can shape their own destiny and inspire others.Message for the society:I want women to know that they are limitless. Whether you are a professional, a homemaker, or both, there is nothing you cannot achieve if you believe in yourself. Balancing various aspects of life is possible, and we should support each other in every endeavour. How will you give back to society after becoming a Queen?Giving back to society as a Queen of Mrs India International Queen is a powerful way to use your platform for positive impact.Like-I can create awareness campaigns about oral health, hygiene, and the importance of regular dental check-ups. Organize free dental camps in underserved areas or partner with NGOs to provide dental care access. As someone who values the Mrs India platform, I could start initiatives to support women by offering skills training or mentoring programs. This could include workshops on self-confidence, career development, or even basic health education to empower them to take charge of their lives. Why have you participated in Mrs India International Queen?I am participating in Mrs India International Queen because I believe it is a platform that celebrates the strength, resilience, and multifaceted nature of today’s married women. As a senior lecturer, clinic owner, wife, and mother, I want to inspire other women to believe in their power to achieve dreams, regardless of the roles they balance. This pageant aligns with my passion for women’s empowerment, and I want to use it as a platform to spread awareness on health, wellness, and self-growth. My goal is to inspire others by showing that every woman has the potential to shine and make a difference in society.”#MrsIndiaInternationalQueen #BeStrongBeConfidentBeYou #PromotingIndianCulture #InternationalMediaCoverage #mrsindia2025 #mrsindia #ankitasarohamrsindia #mrsindiapageant { MrsIndia, MrsIndiaInternationalQueen, MrsIndia2025, MrsIndiaFinalist, MrsIndiaContestant, EmpoweringWomen, InspiringJourney} ... Congratulations Dr. Ritu Bir from Haryana for being selected as a finalist of Mrs India International Queen 2025! Let’s know more about her. We interviewed Dr. Ritu and here are her amazing answers: Name: Dr. Ritu BirProfession: Academician (Associate Professor)Qualification: Doctorate in Environmental ChemistryLocation: Faridabad, HaryanaStrengths: My strengths lie in resilience, empathy, and perseverance. Resilience enables me to navigate challenges with grace and determination, allowing me to rise above adversity. Empathy helps me connect deeply with others, understanding their experiences, offering genuine support. Perseverance defines my approach to life—I remain committed to my goals, whether it’s in my professional journey as an educator and author or in my personal mission to create positive change in society.Weakness: One of my weaknesses is being a perfectionist. I often set high standards for myself, which can lead to stress and self-criticism when things don’t go as planned. While this drive for perfection pushes me to excel, it can sometimes make it difficult to find balance. However, I’ve learned to focus on progress rather than perfection, embracing the journey and recognizing that growth often comes from imperfection. This awareness has helped me become more patient and compassionate with myself, turning what once was a weakness into a strength.Likes: I find joy in several aspects of life that promote growth and well-being. I am passionate about fitness and healthy nutrition, as they are essential for maintaining a balanced and energetic lifestyle. I also have a deep love for learning and sharing knowledge, which is why I enjoy writing and engaging in research. My fascination with my country’s rich traditions adds a cultural dimension to my interests. Lastly, I cherish spending quality time with my family, as these moments of togetherness provide grounding and fulfilment in my life.Dislikes: I strongly dislike injustice and inequality in any form, particularly when it comes to gender-based discrimination and the marginalization of vulnerable communities. It troubles me deeply when people are denied their basic rights or treated unfairly. I also dislike complacency, both in myself and others, as I believe growth and progress come from continuously challenging ourselves. Additionally, I am disheartened by the loneliness and isolation often experienced by the elderly, which motivates me to work towards creating more inclusive and connected communities where everyone feels valued and supported.Tell us about your family: My family is my greatest support and joy. I’ve been happily married for 28 years to a wonderful partner, with whom I share a deep bond built on mutual trust, love, and open communication. We have two incredible children: our eldest is making strides in his career in Canada, and our younger son is pursuing his dream of becoming a doctor in medical school. Our family values the simple moments of togetherness and cherishes our cultural traditions, creating a strong foundation of love and support that enriches our lives.Quotes which inspire you: Several quotes inspire and motivate me to keep pushing forward, especially during challenging times:• ‘The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams’ encourages me to chase my aspirations with confidence.• ‘Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts’ reminds me of the importance of resilience.• ‘Be the change that you wish to see in the world’ drives my commitment to social causes. • ‘You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated’ fuels my perseverance and determination." Achievements/ Anything you are proud of yourself: In my personal and professional journey, I’ve overcome many challenges. I got married at the young age of 20, before even completing my graduation, but I never let that stop me from pursuing my dreams. I went on to earn a doctorate in environmental chemistry, with my research on groundwater assessment in Palwal District helping local communities access clean potable water. Additionally, I’ve authored three books contributing to the field of environmental studies. As an associate professor working in a semi-urban area, I’ve succeeded in counselling many parents to ensure their daughters complete their education before getting them married thus empowering the next generation of women. On a personal level, I learnt swimming at the age of 35 to help my son overcome his fear of water, proving that it’s never too late to grow and lead by example.Through these experiences, I hope to inspire women who feel marriage or societal pressures are barriers to their education or ambitions. What is Women Empowerment according to you: To me, women empowerment is about ensuring that every woman has the freedom and opportunity to realize her full potential. It involves providing equal access to education, healthcare, and career opportunities while breaking down societal barriers and challenging discriminatory norms.Empowerment means supporting women in making their own choices, advocating for their rights, and fostering an environment where they are valued and respected. It’s about enabling women to thrive both personally and professionally, contributing to a more equitable and inclusive society where everyone can achieve their goals and dreams. Message for the society: If given the opportunity, I would focus on creating awareness about two crucial issues: addressing the loneliness experienced by elderly people and promoting a healthy lifestyle for all.In today’s fast-paced world, many elderly individuals feel isolated and disconnected, which significantly impacts their mental and emotional well-being. I believe it’s vital to reconnect with our elders, recognize their invaluable wisdom, and ensure they remain an integral part of our families and communities. Alongside this, I am passionate about promoting a healthy lifestyle. I believe that good health is the foundation for a fulfilling life. By encouraging regular physical activity, balanced nutrition, and mental well-being, we can empower individuals to lead healthier, more energetic lives. This not only enhances physical health but also improves mental clarity and emotional stability, enabling people to contribute more effectively to their families and society. How will you give back to society after becoming a Queen?Becoming a Queen from a big title like ‘Mrs India International Queen’ would give me a powerful platform to give back to society in ways that align with my passions and values.I would launch initiatives to address loneliness faced by elderly people, women’s empowerment, and promoting healthy living. I would initiate programs that connect generations, ensuring our elderly feel valued and supported. I would champion women’s rights, advocating for equal opportunities and safety. Additionally, I would promote a healthy lifestyle through educational campaigns on fitness and nutrition. As a Queen, I would dedicate myself to these causes, using my voice and influence to create positive change. I believe that true leadership is about service, and I am committed to serving society in a way that uplifts, empowers, and enriches the lives of others. Why have you participated in Mrs India International Queen: I participated in Mrs India International Queen to use this esteemed platform for advocating meaningful change and inspiring others. This pageant is not just about beauty; it’s about showcasing the multifaceted nature of modern women—our intellect, compassion, resilience, and our drive to make a difference. This opportunity allows me to highlight issues I’m passionate about, such as women’s empowerment, elderly care, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Participating in Mrs India International Queen allows me to represent not just myself, but every woman who has faced challenges and risen above them with perseverance and grace.
