I am a Gujarati, married in a Punjabi joint family of Industrialists. We were 18 members staying under a roof. My husband, Mr. Paresh Kapoor is very loving and understanding husband. He is a successful industrialist. He guided me when required in my journey to be a self-made social entrepreneur. We have a son, now 19 years old and is studying his engineering at University of Hull, UK. He is a chess champion and drone enthusiast (assembler and pilot).

Quotes that keep you going, motivates you:

  • “Positivity, Confidence and Persistence are the keys in life to achieve what you dream.”
  • “Givers gain.”
  • “You are not well dressed, if you don’t wear smile on your face.”

Achievements/ Anything you are proud of yourself:

I am of the opinion that the best is yet to happen in my life. Though I may say that I am satisfied personally for what I achieved personally as an entrepreneur, wife and mother but I sincerely believe that ‘Miles to go before I sleep. Much more can be done and will be done in my life.

As an entrepreneur, I get sense of happiness and pride when rural women whom I trained in Beauty and wellness sector walks up to me, embrace me and with tears in her eyes, says thank you for making her economically independent. I have trained more than 20000 rural women in Gujarat. Based on that, Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company (GLPC) signed MoU with us and made us their extended arm to make rural women Aatmanirbhar.

As a mother, I am very proud of my son. He is not only good in his studies but has excelled in various curricular activities. He is five times champion in Chess. He was awarded by Gujarat Governor for his best performance in Scout & Guide and was awarded for innovative project by the President of India, Dr Abdul Kalam. He is an avid Drone enthusiastic. He assembles and flies different types of drones. At present, he is undergoing engineering course in University of Hull, UK. His achievements has given me satisfaction and happiness that me giving priority to my son during his formative years and during his 10th and 12th exam over my own business was worth it and has brought satisfaction, happiness and pride.

As a wife, I have stood firmly with my husband. I have not only carried out my family duties smilingly, but also have been on his side during his professional journey. He is my Guru, philosopher, and guide. I am very proud of what he has achieved as an Industrialist.

What is Women Empowerment according to you?

In a single sentence, Women Empowerment for me is: ‘Economically Independent, Confident, Loving, Caring and Sharing’.

It is very important for a woman to be economically independent. Earning does not make her economically independent necessarily. She should be capable and able to take financial decisions on her own. This will change the outlook of her family towards her and help her family and children to achieve greater heights. This of course cannot be achieved unless she is confident in what she does and say.

Woman by nature is loving and caring. She must be sharing her love and care not only for her family but all who come in contact with her. I believe in Givers Gain philosophy. More she gives and shares love and care, more she will receive.

Therefore, comprehensive personality of empowered woman would be that of independent thinking, confident, caring and sharing woman.

Message for Society:

I would say that cultivate ‘Never say Die’ attitude. Be very positive always. Think positive and act positive. Remember, you are not a failure till you, yourself think like one. Success is learning from your failure, be persistence, work for your dreams. You will be successful.

Second thing I would like to say that be happy, be safe, keep your smile on your face always, world do not like person who cries always. You and you only will have to put in effort to achieve your goals. So do it confidently, work hard and work intelligently with a smile.

How will you give back to society after becoming Queen?

I think that I am as such a Queen. My husband calls me Rani. The crown if I get would actually make me Queen. As I have said that I strongly believe in ‘Givers Gain’. Therefore, after the crown, I shall continue my social entrepreneurship with much more vigor and zest. I am sure, the crown will make more and more women look up to me as a role model.

More women would get connected to me. My team will become bigger and I would be able to help more number of women to be economically independent and contribute my bit in their empowerment.

Why have you participated in Mrs India International Queen?

Since my young days, I wanted to take part in such pageant. I was selected as an air hostess by Jet airways. But family restrictions did not allow me to fulfill my dreams. Now, since I have completed my family responsibilities, achieved a bit as social entrepreneur, I feel that this is the right time for me to fulfill my unfinished dream.

Also, the platform this pageant provides will also help me in my social endeavor and by that I hope to create difference in lives of more women of rural India.
