Just imagine sitting behind the wheel of a ship and it’s about to crash. Would you turn the wheel? I did, I took control of my life, and the initiative to write my story and I’m here to complete the chapter.

The drive to change my life led me to a successful life. What is success? For me, it’s a roof over my head, a loving husband and three beautiful children who inspire me to be better than I was yesterday.

My aim is not to be a picture on a poster. It’s to empower people to channel the fire within, not be suppressed or bow down to the status quo, but encourage others to come forward and share their voices and vulnerabilities that’s what connects us and where true empowerment lies.

Just like I saved my ship from sinking, built my family and chose to narrate my story, I stand in front of you today not as a shadow of someone else but a true authentic version of myself.

Life for me is to do, see, and experience.

I like to read, and to write; I love to talk, and to listen. I like to see the sunrise in the morning, and the moonlight at night; I like to look at the clouds in the sky with a blank mind. I like flowers in spring, rain in summer, leaves in autumn, and snow in winter. I like to wake up early; I like to be alone, and to be surrounded by people. I love peoples’ stories and simplicity that touches and feeds the soul.

I always wanted to be someone who could inspire people through my story.

I also wanted to be a great psychologist like Sigmund Freud, who could read people’s minds. Yet my path led me on a different journey, one of self-discovery, self-acceptance and love.

I am the captain of my ship, navigator of my soul and teller of my story. I am Kuljit Kaur Bhamrah.
