Name: Subhalaxmi Patra

Tell us about your family:

Mine is a very small and nuclear family – me, my three-year-old son, and my husband; my mother, father and my younger sister; and my father-in-law and mother-in-law. This is my whole world.

Quotes that keep you going, motivate you:

  • There is no age limit.
  • You can achieve anything anytime if you give your full dedication.
  • Opportunities don’t happen, you create them.
  • Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterwards.

Achievements/ Anything you are proud of yourself:

I am a proud daughter, a proud wife and a proud mother. From a career perspective, I am a well-settled lady, but in my personal life, I have more achievements as I have been able to maintain a very good bond between my family members.

What is Women Empowerment according to you?

For me, Women Empowerment is ” Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” – Save the girl child and create more literacy in women. A literate mother creates a healthy society. Women should be self-independent so that they can serve the better future.

Message for the society:

Create a fearless society where from a baby to an old lady all are safe. Teach your son to be well-behaved rather than teaching a girl how to dress yourself. Fight for yourself.

How will you give back to society after becoming a Queen?

A single person can’t change society. We need all efforts from society where all need to join hands and face all the circumstances. I want to make a literate society where we have respect for each other. Respect your culture, respect your religion.

Why have you participated in Mrs India International Queen?

I am participating in Mrs India International Queen beauty pageant contest for the first time to experience the journey.
