Name: Saumya Sahai Tandon
Profession: Ex-MD Accenture Solutions Pvt. Ltd.; Now Retired
Qualification: MCA
Location: Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh
Strengths: Resilience, disciplined, leadership with empathy, curious and adventurous.
Weakness: Sometimes overly analytical, and impatient with myself.
Likes: I love travelling, fitness, spiritual and intellectual conversations, fashion and dressing up, music and dancing, learning new things, gardening, and creating beautiful spaces. I also enjoy mentoring and helping people learn, especially when knowledge can create greater opportunities for them.
Dislikes: I dislike dishonesty, unnecessary negativity and judging people without understanding their journeys. I also dislike the idea that people—particularly women—should restrict themselves because of their age or because society has decided how they are “supposed” to live at a particular stage of life.
Tell us about your family:
I live with my husband and we planned a child-free life. I have my maternal and paternal families and plenty of siblings.
Quotes that keep you going, motivate you:
- The purpose of our lives is to be happy!
- The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page!
- Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths!
- It is never too late to be what you might have been!
Achievements/ Anything you are proud of yourself:
- Rising from a software developer to Managing Director at Accenture during my 20+ year career in technology and leadership.
- Leading large-scale Generative AI, automation, DevOps and technology transformation initiatives for multimillion-dollar companies and Fortune 500 leaders, creating significant business impact while mentoring and building high-performing teams.
- Completing the Hampta Pass trek at the age of 43, which challenged me physically and mentally and reinforced my belief that we are capable of much more than we imagine.
- Winning 1st place in an inter-school swimming competition in Lucknow in 1996 and 3rd place in the All India Shito-Ryu Karate Championship in Jhansi (1997).
- Completing Visharad in Kathak during my school years—something I am now excited to reconnect with after many years.
- Continuing to challenge myself by learning new skills, such as playing the drums, strength training and travelling independently across different countries.
- Having the courage to reinvent myself after an accomplished corporate career and step onto the Mrs India stage at this phase of my life—because I believe growth, dreams and new beginnings have no age limit.
What is Women Empowerment according to you?
To me, women empowerment begins with the power to choose—the freedom to decide who you want to be and how you want to live your life.
It means having access to education, financial independence and equal opportunities, but more importantly, having the confidence to make your own choices without fear of judgement.
An empowered woman can choose a career or choose to manage her home. She can be ambitious and feminine, strong and compassionate, traditional or modern—because empowerment is not about telling a woman what she should become; it is about giving her the freedom to become who she chooses to be.
And I strongly believe that this freedom has no age limit. At every stage of life, a woman has the right to dream again, grow again and reinvent herself.
Message for the society:
My message to society is simple: never put an expiry date on dreams—your own or someone else’s.
We are more than our age, gender, profession or the roles society assigns to us. Give people the freedom to evolve, and give yourself permission to begin again.
At any age, you can learn something new, chase a forgotten dream, reinvent yourself—and perhaps inspire someone else to do the same.
How will you give back to society after becoming a Queen?
I believe giving back begins with purpose, not with a crown. I am already working towards setting up a digital learning centre to provide young people from financially constrained backgrounds, especially girls, with practical skills in computers, coding and AI, along with mentorship and confidence-building.
My larger vision is to develop this into a scalable network of learning centres, mentors and industry partnerships that can reach communities beyond my city. As a Queen, I would use the visibility and influence of the platform to bring more people and resources behind this mission.
Why have you participated in Mrs India International Queen?
For me, Mrs India International Queen is about reinvention and stepping beyond my comfort zone.
After more than two decades in technology, I wanted to challenge myself in a completely different arena and rediscover dimensions of myself beyond my professional identity—as a woman, a performer, an explorer and someone who still has many dreams to pursue.
Through my journey, I want to inspire other women to believe that there is no age limit to dreaming, evolving or beginning again.
