Congratulations MRS. DEBLINA SARKAR from Australia for being selected as a finalist of Mrs India International Queen 2022! Let’s know more about her. We interviewed Mrs. Deblina and here are her amazing answers:

Profession: Software Engineer

Qualification: Masters in IT industry

Location: Sydney, Australia

Strengths: Go-getter person, clear about what I want in life, Emotional person i.e. I have the dare to show my real emotions to the world. 

Weakness: Sensitive person but at the same time, I know how to maintain my dignity and how to carry myself with grace. 

Likes: I’m a person who likes to be constantly moving forward, even if it’s a small step at a time. I’m ambitious and have not-giving up attitude so anything which has growth or change for the positive world, attracts me.

Dislikes: I don’t like to be judged or to judge someone for my/their personal choices.

Tell us about your family:

I’m from a Bengali family in India. My father served for the nation (Indian armed forces) and that’s how I got the pleasure of living in a multicultural environment. My mother holds a Degree in Economics honours and she is a housewife now (The toughest job of all I’ll say).

For me, Schooling was usually limited to 2-3 years at one place and then moved to another place and continued. That’s how I got to know people of different languages.

I got married in 2016 after completing my Masters in IT.It was an arranged marriage. My husband works for a Reputed MNC as a Software engineer. My mother-in law, Father-in law, Sister-in law all are well-established doctors.

I’m a mother of a baby boy who is 3 years old, the best thing that ever happened in my life.

The above written quote describes me as I am continuously donating funds for cancer councils in India and Australia and I have a final goal to start my own NGO which will look after needy people whether its kids, men, women, elders. After all, no one can become poor by giving.

The above written quote describes me the best because it was my dream to be a part of Miss India journey during my teenage time, but I couldn’t because my father wanted me to become a software engineer first.

Now that I am an engineer and already fulfilled my parent’s dream, I can only think about how to put in the effort to participate in the beauty Pageants and most importantly my mom always told me that more than winning, enjoying and feeling each and every bit of the journey of your dream. Because it’s never too late to start.

Achievements/ Anything you are proud of yourself:

Personal Life-

Honestly, I think of all the careers and professions, being a mother is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and surely, I’ll count that as a personal Life achievement.

Professional Life-

When I moved to Sydney, it was recession time going on in Sydney after 20 years. At that time, I’ve cracked not only one interview(for the role of a software engineer in a reputed MNC) but I’ve cracked three interviews and it was my choice to select any one of them. Definitely,it is an achievement for me.

What is Women Empowerment according to you?

According to me, Women empowerment is in promoting women’s sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices, and their right to influence social change for themselves and others.

It is about realizing that we don’t need to compare ourselves with anyone in the world, it is about realizing that we don’t have to become like some other women or men because every creation of nature is important, unique, and wonderful in its own way.

It is closely aligned with female empowerment – a fundamental human right that’s also a key to achieve a more peaceful, prosperous world.

Message for the society:

The social message I want to give to our society is that-

Be kind, we never know what someone is facing in their lives so always be gentle and kind.

Don’t judge, never judge a person by their actions. It’s all about perspective. What you see wrong could be right for them.

And lastly, it’s never too late to learn and grow. No matter how old you are, you can always make a positive impact in the world. So, keep working hard and stay curious, because the more you know, the better you can help others.

The topic, which I want to talk about or create awareness for is Cancer Treatment.

Recently one of my closest friends lost her mom, she was suffering from cancer, and she needed immunotherapy. It was a bit expensive for her and she asked for financial help from all of us. We did whatever we could. But the thing is the large population in India doesn’t even know what this treatment is or how it can help people. Treatment awareness can help them proactively do the needful.

How will you give back to society after becoming a Queen?

One of the most effective ways of giving back is volunteering your time at places like your local non-profit, homeless shelter, animal shelter, etc. Your time is valuable and gifting it can make a world of difference in the lives of many.

Volunteering your time and energy can help strengthen your neighbourhood with simple gestures of kindness. Lending a helping hand to a neighbour who is juggling handfuls of groceries to moving a piece of furniture is a generous act that leaves a lasting impression.

Creating a fundraising event or charitable activity in your community can help society to be a better place to live in. It will not only create awareness about the cause but also will radiate positive energy and compassion among each other.

I am donating some funds regularly for cancer patients in Karunashraya, Bengaluru, India, and in Cancer council, Sydney, Australia.

I have a plan of creating fundraising events for the cancer councils. Ticketing events like a marathon or a BBQ party. I’m already working on it and will continue doing it more with time.

Why have you participated in Mrs India International Queen?

I want to participate in Mrs India International Queen because there are so many things, I can learn not only about myself, but also about communication skills, leadership, interviews, and poise! One of the million reasons is that it’s a great platform to build up your self-confidence. I see Pageantry as a doorway for me because I am someone who wants to be on stage, give back, and of course, learn more about my selves! I never saw pageantry as a competition, I always looked at it as a learning experience. Because out of the whole weekend, we can learn so much that it’s beyond mind-blowing what we can actually grasp!
